A site people can use. Data they can question.
This portfolio targets WCAG 2.2 AA. Accessibility is part of its development and editorial practice, not a certification badge.
What has been checked
The September 2026 review includes automated WCAG A/AA checks, keyboard operation of map snapshots and controls, responsive reflow, light/dark modes and reduced-motion behavior. Interactive maps have equivalent lists or dropdowns; charts have data tables and labeled controls.
What the checks cannot establish
Automated tools cover only part of accessibility. Complete conformance requires additional assistive-technology and real-user testing, including screen-reader review. This statement is not a guarantee of ADA legal compliance.
Data transparency
NJ county boundaries come from the U.S. Census Bureau. Salary charts use the NJDOE 2025 Taxpayers’ Guide, with the school years and definitions beside the chart. Local people, local affiliations and sample events are fictional. The portfolio has no connection to private OneNJEA, CARS or SDIS systems.
Privacy and choice
The map does not request device location. Basemap tiles are delivered by OpenStreetMap, which receives normal web requests such as the visitor’s IP address. Theme preference is stored in the visitor’s browser. Local-workspace edits are temporary and disappear when the page is refreshed.
Report a barrier
If something is difficult to use, please contact Tom through the channel where this portfolio was shared. Include the page, the task and any browser or assistive-technology details you want to share.
Case studies and the portfolio guide
Case studies open in a scrolling dialog with a close button and Escape support. The original WordPress posts remain available as ordinary links. The guide is a scripted demonstration, not an AI adviser. Sample member contexts and support contacts are fictional. No calls, emails or messages are sent by the sample contact controls.
The listening dashboard uses synthetic survey data, with the same values in a table. Additional private screenshots are published only as privacy-edited copies; the originals are not uploaded. Image-editing assistance was used for redaction, so the copies illustrate interface design and should not be used to read precise statistical values.
